Lineage 2: Revolution Hands-On
Jul. 22, 2019

Netmarble is one of the largest mobile gaming companies in South Korea. With Lineage 2: Revolution, they brought their experience to the MMO scene. This title is based on the original game world of PC Lineage II MMO, which was defined 100 years before the events of this game, and which were defined 150 years before the original Lineage.

A powerful dark society created chaos and tried to confront the territories of the country. They join the mercenaries of Silverlight and are among the many fighters who fight against the influence of dark society.

Lineage 2: Revolution has been running since 2017 and offers a different experience from other Netmarble offers. It has more of a classic MMO feel than a Gacha game format. It should be noted, however, that as an MMO without a subscription, the game offers several coins and equipment in play for sale.

The main objective of Revolution is to provide an MMO experience without problems in the mobile, PvP and main battles. Fortress seats are battles in which a large number of players work simultaneously towards a single objective. There are even battles in mass. In this context, the work of Netmarble to create a minimal user interface and automate the execution of tasks is particularly noteworthy.

Our black elf was swimming through the landscape. The battles were quick and intuitive. We were able to use the Quest Automation function to reach our destination. This means that at least some missions can also be completed with a minimum playing time.

It is well known that MMOs require a lot of time and effort to master them. Therefore, in the long run it can be difficult to reconcile this type of game with the mobile format. For those who have a large investment in this type of game, Lineage 2: Revolution continues to attract attention. There is a reason why the previous title of Lineage II PC has been included in ethnographic gender studies.
